I am alive, and still styling shoots!

I never claimed to be a blogger!

I really really suck the proverbial big one at updating this thing, but c'est la vie?

So I had a shoot today with a steller (stellar???) team!

Can I ask a serious question here?

What is up with models in medical school? This is the second model I have worked with who is medical school bound. Sorry to break it to you all but it appears women can be gorgeous, intelligent and sweet as a peach! Both the future doctor-models I have worked with have been living dolls! Just such lovely girls inside and out, I guess some people really do get all the luck LOL

Anywho I have so much on my plate this month it is crazy. I have my shop shoot on the 16th, a prof shoot on the 20th, a marketing shoot on the 27th, a vintage event through shopsocials.com on November 22nd...I am planning to die of exhaustion on Novemer 23rd...so yah, that's a lot (especially when you factor in a 2 year old and 8 month old who are both attached to my hip 24/7)

On a less positive note Catarian bit Riley's cheek today, I was not impressed!

OK here are some behind the scene shots with my shitty-ass camera.

Oh I almost forgot I am getting credit as the makeup artist on this shoot as well (LOLZZZ 4EVA!) the actual makeup artist flaked/did not show or call, so I said "I can kinda' do makeup?" what followed was me using the lovely and sweet photographer's personal makeup (she actually had great product, not drug store crap, but nowhere near a kit) to try my best to follow the specs. Guys it turned out not tragic! YAY me!!!! Oh and there were no makeup brushes (wait there was a blush brush)!

Behind the scenes "hippie" for submission to Sublime

OK just one behind the scenes from this shoot. By rap we had done 6 looks and it spanned from 12:30 pm to 8:00 pm so I was tired.

I liked this look but there were like two others that were so 'other-level' that it hurt to look at them. Their pure wickedness stung my eyes.

Photo shoot and DIY kid's stove

O.K. so I did a shoot with a lovely photographer this weekend, two shoots actually. The first concept was an avant garde concept shoot inspired by a midsummer's night dream, I forgot my camera so I don't have any behind the scenes of it. The second was fab! It was based on the concept of 'Amish Vixens' and it was way too fun to style. The results are no doubt going to be fab and I will post them and the photographer's links once I get the post-eds.


If you know me IRL you know I am artsy, that said I am not 'crafy'. I suck a big one at crafts. My mannequin arrived this week and she came in a big old box. Catarina is in love with kid's play stoves (but they are hella expensive). So I figured why not just make her one with said box? I stayed up all night making it out of bits and pieces lying around our place and I think the final product (though yes in no way gorgeous) is a lot of fun. Rina loves it!!! She spends the whole day 'cooking' and doing dishes. She is soooooooo cute!




I have a shoot on the 9th, another on the 12th, and maybe one next Thursday/Friday...who knew there was such a big market in Toronto for vintage stylists?

Menu Planning!

I find that menu planning saves a lot of time and money! You know what you are making, you know what you need (and what you don't need), you can plan healthier meals, you eat out less etc...

That said here is my menu plan for the week along with some household items I NEED!

Shafting

I want to take this opportunity to apologise to anyone who may feel 'shafted' by me at the moment. In my defence I am beyond busy at the moment and totally swamped!

I have a whole bunch of photo shoots coming up in the next month (one tomorrow and one Saturday as well), I have two babies under two (that in and of itself is like having 2 full time jobs), I have over 200 items that NEED to be added to my shop, I have 8 loads of laundry that are begging to be done, I haven't done the floors in two weeks, I need to menu plan and shop for the next two weeks, I tutor a kid in English two days a week, my father is in failing health and to boot I have been kinda sick for the last week.

If it makes you feel any better I had to cancel my appointment with the plastic surgeon today (no I am not getting my titties did, trust me they are beyond ample!) I have a suspicious mole in my hairline that needs to get removed. I also had to resched Riley's 5mos doctors appointment because there just isn't anytime.

A night where I get 5 hours of sleep is a restful one. I keep telling myself that this pace is not permanent and that it will all payoff in the end (hell whatever lie we need to feed ourselves to keep on trucking and what have you).

Running a house, raising babies, and trying to start up a business is at least three plates full to be fair. By September the business should be rolling, the photo shoots should slow down, Catarina should be potty trained, and Riley will be on foods instead of just breast milk and rice cereal all the live long day (breastfeeding is draining both literally and figuratively.

Guys I am sooooo tired! But yah know what, we gotta do what needs to be done right? I mean no one is gonna do it for us.
